Pick a time for your Alfy coffee chat in Slack

When a program coordinates scheduling, Alfy opens a Slack group DM with your match and suggests up to 5 time slots. Everyone clicks Select on the slots that work, and Alfy tells you when you all agree so one of you can create the calendar invite. Using Microsoft Teams? See schedule your chat in Microsoft Teams.

Step 1: Select the times that work for you#

In the group DM, click Select next to every slot that works for you. Click it again to unselect. Each slot shows who suggested it and who selected it. Past slots are marked PAST and can't be selected.

Step 2 (optional): Suggest another time#

If none of the slots work, click 📅 Suggest Alternative Time. In the Suggest a Time window, pick a Date and time and click Submit. It's added to the list for your group.

Step 3: Create the calendar invite#

When everyone selects the same slot, Alfy posts "🎉 Great News - Everyone is available on:" with the attendees' emails. One of you creates the invite:

1. Click 📅 Create Calendar Invite.
2. In the Calendar Invite window, click Add to Google Calendar or Add to Outlook Calendar.
3. Add an online meeting link and send the invite.

Already booked a time?#

If you haven't agreed on a slot 24 hours after the round, Alfy sends one reminder in the group DM. If you already booked the chat another way, click ✅ We've Already Scheduled in that reminder. Alfy notes who marked it, and admins see your group as Scheduled.

Get better suggestions#

Under Calendar status:, the group DM shows who has connected a calendar. Click 📅 Calendar Settings to connect yours, so Alfy avoids your busy times. See connect your calendar.
