In Microsoft Teams, you schedule your Alfy coffee chat from the 📅 Schedule your chat button on the round's post in the channel or group chat. Alfy suggests time slots for your group, everyone selects the ones that work, and Alfy shows when you all agree.

Step 1: Open Schedule your chat#

On Alfy's post for the round, click 📅 Schedule your chat.

The Schedule your chat dialog shows who you're matched with and the suggested times. It's private to you.

Step 2: Select every time that works for you#

Click Select next to each time that works. Selected times show ✓ Selected. Click again to unselect.

If your calendar is connected, times when you're busy show ⚠️ You're busy then. To connect it, click 📅 Connect calendar in the dialog. To choose which calendars Alfy checks, click ⚙️ Calendar settings.

Past times are hidden. Click 🕓 Show past to see them.

Step 3 (optional): Suggest another time#

Click 📅 Suggest a time, pick a Date and a Time, then click Add time. Your group sees it as a new option, already selected for you.

Step 4: Add the chat to your calendar#

When everyone in the group selects the same time, the dialog shows a 🎉 banner with the time when everyone is available. Click + Add to calendar on that time, then 📅 Add to Google Calendar or 📅 Add to Outlook Calendar. The + Add to calendar button appears on every time you've selected.

Good to know#

  • Alfy suggests up to 5 times on weekdays during business hours, between 4 hours and 7 days after the round, across everyone's timezones. See how Alfy matches people.
  • Alfy doesn't send scheduling reminders in Teams.
  • If you don't see the button, the program doesn't coordinate scheduling. Agree on a time directly with your group.
