Can I turn off Alfy's meeting time suggestions?

Every Alfy program suggests free times and lets people send calendar invites, and there's no setting to turn it off. Here's what to do if your team would rather organize chats itself.

Every Alfy program suggests free times and lets people send a calendar invite in one click, so there's no setting to turn it off. Nobody has to use it: people can still agree on a time on their own.

If your team prefers to organize chats themselves#

  • Book the chat any way you like, then click ✅ We've scheduled it on Alfy's reminder. Alfy stops reminding the match.
  • Not meeting this round? Click 🙅 We won't meet this time. Alfy stops the reminders too.
  • Only want the matches announced? Choose Post in channel as the announcement method in the program settings. People still get private reminders, with the free times, until they answer.

See answer Alfy's coffee chat reminders.

What scheduling does#

  • Alfy shows the times when everyone in a match is free in the next 7 days, based on connected Google or Outlook calendars.
  • Anyone in the match can pick a time and send everyone a calendar invite from their own calendar.
  • Alfy reminds the match until the chat is scheduled or someone answers.

See schedule your coffee chat in Slack or in Microsoft Teams.

Change the chat length#

The program's How long would you like each coffee chat to last? setting is the default meeting length: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. People can still pick another length when they schedule. See update a program's settings.
