Create your first Alfy program in one minute

Right after you install Alfy in Slack, you land on the Setup Alfy page of the web dashboard, which creates your first random coffee program in about a minute: pick a channel, a group size and a schedule, then click Submit. In Microsoft Teams, you can also create your first program from Teams.

Step 1: Open the Setup Alfy page#

If you've just installed Alfy, you're already on it. Otherwise, open the web dashboard, go to Admin › Settings and click Add a program. This button only shows when no program exists yet.

Step 2: Choose the channel#

Under Choose which channel to use, pick one channel. Alfy matches the members of that channel.

Step 3: Choose a group size#

Under 🙌 Choose a group size, pick 2, 3, 4 or 5 people per group. The default is 2.

Step 4: Choose the frequency and time#

Under 🔄 Choose frequency and time, pick how often Alfy matches people and at what time. The default is every week on Monday at 9:00am. Times go in 15-minute steps.

The setup page uses your browser's timezone. You can change the timezone later.

Step 5: Click Submit#

Click Submit. Alfy announces each round in the channel you picked and, in Slack, also opens a group DM for each match.

A window confirms that your first coffee chat program is set up, then you land on the admin settings. If Alfy is the first BuddiesHR app in your workspace, a short "How did you find us?" question comes first; you can skip it.
