Uninstall, reinstall or update Billy

Uninstalling Billy, the BuddiesHR birthday bot, from Slack or Microsoft Teams keeps your settings and dates, and doesn't cancel your subscription. Reinstalling restores everything.

Follow uninstall an app or cancel your subscription.

Reinstall Billy#

Install it again the same way: in Slack or in Microsoft Teams. In Slack, your channels, settings and dates come back, and you skip the setup page if setup was already done. If Billy posted in a private channel, check that it's still a member, or invite it again with /invite @Billy.

Update an outdated version (Slack)#

Workspaces that installed Billy long ago may run an older version. Admins then see ⚠️ You are using an outdated version of Billy at the top of the admin settings. On the oldest versions, they also get a ⚠️ Action required: upgrade Billy message on Mondays.

1. Click Click here in the banner (or 🚀 Upgrade Billy in the message).
2. Click Allow on Slack's permission page.

It takes a few seconds and keeps all your settings. Older versions use different buttons than these docs, such as Download template ⬇️ and Upload list ⬆️.
