Use Billy's commands in Microsoft Teams

Every command you can type in your 1:1 chat with Billy in Microsoft Teams, such as Settings, Status, Import, SetDates and Upcoming, and who can use each one.

In Microsoft Teams, Billy, the BuddiesHR birthday bot, has no Home tab: you use it by typing commands in your 1:1 chat with Billy, or by clicking the buttons on its Help card. Commands aren't case-sensitive.

Open the Help card#

Type Help in your chat with Billy. Any text Billy doesn't recognize also shows the Help card.

Click a command's button, or type its name.

Admin commands#

Only Billy admins of a team see and can use these, in the 1:1 chat.

If you manage several teams, Billy first asks "For which team would you like to execute the command…?". Pick the team in Select team.

Commands for everyone#

`SetDates`	Enter your own birthday and work anniversary, or opt out
`Upcoming`	See the next birthdays and work anniversaries
`Reminders`	Get a heads-up before a teammate's celebration
`Help`	Show the Help card

In a channel or group chat#

@mention Billy with help in a channel or group chat to see a short card with Upcoming and Help only. Upcoming works there too. Billy's other commands answer that they're only available in 1:1 chats, and Billy replies to any other text that it doesn't recognize the command.

Trial and billing on the Help card#

For admins, the Help card also shows the days left in the free trial (after the first 3 days), or a link to download invoices once you've subscribed. See manage billing and download invoices.

Billy's cards and messages in Teams are in English. Only the celebration posts use the team's language.
