Add Billy admins in Microsoft Teams

Use Billy's SetAdmin command in Microsoft Teams to choose who can change a team's settings, import dates and ask members for their birthdays.

Microsoft TeamsUpdated Oct 5, 20261 min read

In Microsoft Teams, admins of Billy, the BuddiesHR birthday bot, are set per team. The person who added Billy to a team is its first admin, and can add others with the SetAdmin command. Being a Teams or Microsoft 365 admin doesn't make you a Billy admin.

Admins can use Settings, Status, Import, AskDates and SetAdmin. See use Billy's commands in Microsoft Teams.

Step 1: Type SetAdmin#

In your 1:1 chat with Billy, type SetAdmin. If you manage several teams, pick the team in Select team.

Step 2: Select the admins#

The card "…'s Admins" opens. In Select admins, add the people who should manage Billy for this team, and remove those who shouldn't.

Step 3: Confirm#

Click ✔️ Confirm. The list you confirmed replaces the team's previous admin list, so keep yourself in it if you still need access.
