Uninstall a BuddiesHR app or cancel your subscription

How to remove a BuddiesHR app from Slack or Microsoft Teams, and why you also need to email us to cancel your subscription and stop billing.

To cancel a BuddiesHR subscription, email hey@buddieshr.com: uninstalling a BuddiesHR app from Slack or Microsoft Teams does not stop billing. Removing an app and cancelling its subscription are two separate steps.

Cancel your subscription#

Email us at hey@buddieshr.com and tell us which app (or which plan, such as Culture OS) you want to cancel. Please tell us why you're leaving: it really helps us improve the product 🙏

There's no long-term contract: you can cancel at any time.

To download past invoices or update your payment details first, open the billing portal:

  • Alfy: in the web dashboard, click the ··· button next to your name, then Billing and invoices. See Alfy's billing guide.
  • Other apps: click 💳 Billing in the app's admin settings in Slack. See for example Billy's billing guide.

What happens when your subscription ends#

Once the subscription has ended, an app used by 10 or more people stops working as if its free trial had expired, until an admin subscribes again. An app used by fewer than 10 people stays free. Your settings are kept either way. See pricing, free plan and trial.

Uninstall an app from Slack#

You need to be a workspace admin, or the person who installed the app.

  1. In Slack, click your workspace name, then go to Tools & settings and Manage apps.
  2. Find the app (for example Clappy) and open it.
  3. Open the Configuration page and click Remove App.

Uninstall an app from Microsoft Teams#

An app can be added in several places in Teams: as a personal app, in a team or in a chat. Remove it from each place where it was added.

From Manage your apps#

  1. In Teams, select Apps, then Manage your apps.
  2. Find the app and select the arrow next to it to see where it's used.
  3. Select Remove for each place you want to remove it from.

From the left side of Teams#

  1. Select View more apps and search for the app.
  2. Right-click the app and select Uninstall, then Remove.

Only apps with a personal view, meaning you can use them outside chats, channels and meetings, show up here.

From a team#

  1. Go to the team.
  2. Right-click the app at the top.
  3. Select Remove.

From a chat#

  1. Go to the chat.
  2. Right-click the app at the top.
  3. Select Remove.
