How Billy counts seats in Slack and Teams

Billy, the BuddiesHR birthday bot, bills per seat, and the seat count decides whether you're on the free plan (under 10 seats). Billy counts the people it can celebrate, not everyone in your workspace or tenant.

In Slack#

• If any Billy channel is set to All workspace members, every eligible workspace member counts.
• Otherwise, Billy counts the unique members of its channels. Someone in two Billy channels counts once.
• Bots, guests and deactivated members never count.

So the Who should be celebrated in this channel? setting changes your seat count: see add Billy to a channel.

In Microsoft Teams#

Billy counts the unique members of the teams where its setup is finished.
