Change a Billy channel's settings in Slack

Billy admins can change the settings of any Slack channel Billy posts in at any time, from the admin settings, in two short forms. Using Microsoft Teams? See change Billy's settings in Teams.

Step 1: Click Edit channel settings#

In the admin settings, find the channel and click Edit channel settings.

Step 2: Update Settings (1/2)#

The channel is shown at the top and can't be changed. You can change:

• 1. Who should be celebrated in this channel?
• 2. Do you want to celebrate work anniversaries too?
• 3. Which language should be used to post?
• 4. Would you like Billy to automatically collect dates by contacting members?

Turning automatic collection back on restarts the reminder schedule (2, 5, 12 and 21 days later) for members with missing dates. To ask them right away, use Notify N members on the channel's card.

Step 3: Update Settings (2/2)#

Change the posting time, timezone, frequency, weekend and public holiday handling, GIF, @channel tag or style, then click Update.

To use another channel instead, remove Billy from this channel and add the new one.
