What's on Linky's Home tab in Slack

Linky's Home tab in Slack shows your own org chart profile and a button to open the chart. Admins also see how complete the chart is. Linky is the BuddiesHR org chart app for Slack: to find the tab, search for "Linky" in Slack and open the Home tab.

For everyone: Personal Settings#

The 👤 Personal Settings section shows:

• a tip about /whois, which you can hide with Dismiss,
• ℹ️ Your profile infos: your manager, your direct reports and each of your profile fields. ✏️ marks the fields you can edit yourself,
• ✏️ Update profile, when at least one field is open to employees. See update your profile,
• Open org chart ↗️, which opens the chart in your browser, already signed in.

If you haven't been placed on the chart yet, your profile shows "Your profile is currently empty because you have not been added to the org chart yet!"

For admins: Admin Settings#

Above it, Linky admins see a ⚙️ Admin Settings section, visible to them only:

• Org chart status: how many Slack members are missing from the chart, with a completion gauge. It turns green when "All members are in the org chart. Great job!"
• Profile completion status: how many people on the chart are missing at least one required field. It shows once someone is on the chart.
• ✏️ Update org chart, on either card while it isn't complete, and Open dashboard ↗: both open the chart in Admin mode.

To fix the counts, see place people on the org chart and remind people to complete their profile.

Free trial banner#

During the free trial, admins see how many days are left at the top of the Home tab, with 💳 Subscribe and View pricing buttons. Once the trial has expired, the banner says so. See plans and free trial.

Messages from Linky#

The Messages tab is where Linky writes to you:

• a welcome message the first time you open the Home tab,
• for admins: team change notifications,
• for everyone: profile completion reminders sent by an admin.
