Can I import my org chart into Linky from Excel or an HRIS?

Yes. Linky, the BuddiesHR org chart app for Slack, can import your team from a spreadsheet or sync it from BambooHR or Google Workspace, set up by our support team. Spreadsheet imports and HRIS syncs aren't available from the dashboard yet: contact support and we set them up for you.

Import from a spreadsheet#

Send us an .xlsx or .csv file with one row per person. It must have an Email column, used to match each row with a person. Add any other columns you want to bring in, such as manager, job title or department.

Before anything changes, we check the result with you: new people, updated people, people removed and any errors.

Sync with an HRIS#

Linky can sync your org chart every day from:

• BambooHR
• Google Workspace

Each day, the sync places people under their manager, updates the profile fields you mapped and removes people who were deactivated in your HRIS.

Without an import#

Most teams don't need one: Linky lists your Slack members and you only pick each person's manager. See place people on the org chart.
