Move someone to another chart in Linky
When your Linky org chart is split into several charts, admins can move a person and their whole team from one chart to another in a few clicks.
SlackUpdated Oct 5, 20261 min readWhen Linky, the BuddiesHR org chart app for Slack, holds several charts, for example one per country, an admin can move a person to another chart. Everyone who reports to them moves with them. You need to be a Linky admin.
Step 1: Open the person's profile#
Open the org chart in Admin mode and click the person's picture or name. In the Profile panel, click ⋮ at the top right, then Change root.
Step 2: Pick the new chart#
In the "Move to another chart" window, choose the chart in Root. Their current chart is marked (Current) and can't be selected. Click Change Root.
The person lands at the top of the new chart, with everyone who reports to them, directly or not. Give them a manager in that chart if needed, see edit someone's profile.
