How anonymous are Pulsy surveys?
What a Pulsy anonymous survey hides from admins in results, exports, notifications and follow-up questions, and what respondents see in Slack and on the web.
In an anonymous Pulsy survey, admins never see who gave which answer, in the results, the exports or the notifications. Pulsy surveys are anonymous by default (Yes (recommended)).
Set anonymity#
Choose Anonymous when you create the survey: Yes (recommended) or No. You can change it on a draft, but it's locked once the survey is launched.
What an anonymous survey hides#
| Where | In an anonymous survey |
|---|---|
Results, Per User view |
Respondents show as "🥷 Anonymous" with a number, never by name |
| Participation block | "🥷 Anonymous survey" instead of avatars |
| CSV and XLSX exports | No name or email columns |
| New-response notifications | No respondent name |
| Follow-up questions | The conversation stays anonymous for both sides |
You still see how many people answered and the overall participation rate.
What respondents see#
Respondents are told before they answer.
- In Slack: "🎭 This survey is anonymous" at the top of the answer window, or "⚠️ This survey is not anonymous" if it isn't.
- On the web: "🥷 Your answers are anonymous." or "Your name is visible to admins."
