Install Pulsy in Slack

Add Pulsy, the BuddiesHR survey and poll app, to your Slack workspace in about 30 seconds, and what to do if an App Manager must approve it.

Installing Pulsy, the BuddiesHR survey and poll app for Slack, takes about 30 seconds. Once Pulsy is in, you land in the BuddiesHR web dashboard, ready to create your first survey, and everyone in the workspace can create polls in Slack.

Step 1: Click Add to Slack#

Start from whichever is easiest:

Step 2: Select the right workspace#

Slack shows the workspace Pulsy will be installed in at the top-right of the page. Change it there if needed.

Step 3: Click Allow#

Review the permissions Pulsy needs, then click Allow. Pulsy asks to read channel and user lists, send messages and direct messages, and add its slash commands.

Step 4: Create your first survey#

After the install, Slack sends you to the BuddiesHR web dashboard (dashboard.buddieshr.com). On a first install, it opens Pulsy's Create survey wizard so you can set up your first survey straight away. If Pulsy was already set up in your workspace, you land on the Surveys list instead.

Pulsy also sends everyone a welcome message the first time they open its Home tab in Slack.

What's next?#

  1. Create your first survey.
  2. Create your first poll.
  3. Get around the web dashboard and the Slack Home tab.

Troubleshooting#

I don't have permission to install Pulsy#

If your workspace only lets App Managers install apps, Slack shows a Request to install form instead of the Allow button. Add a short message for your App Managers and submit it.

Once an App Manager approves the request, Slackbot sends you a message and you can install Pulsy from the App Directory.
