Edit, close, reopen or delete a Pulsy survey

What you can still change on a draft, live or closed Pulsy survey in the web dashboard, and how to close it early, reopen it with a new deadline, duplicate it or delete it.

You edit a Pulsy survey from its page in the BuddiesHR web dashboard (Admin mode, Surveys tab). What you can change depends on the survey's status: draft, live or closed.

Draft survey#

Everything can be changed until you launch.

Questions (N) tab: Create question, Add from question bank, edit, reorder or remove questions.
Settings tab: every setting from the wizard except Frequency, then Save changes. To run the survey on a recurring schedule, create a new survey and pick a frequency.
Launch now sends it. See launch a survey.

Live survey#

Once launched, a survey's anonymity, audience and questions are locked. In the Settings tab you can still change:

Name
Keep survey open for, counted from the launch date. The new deadline must be in the future.
Smart reminders

Click Save changes.

Close a survey early#

Click Close survey, then confirm. People can no longer submit answers. You can reopen it later if you need more answers.

Otherwise, the survey closes automatically at the end of Keep survey open for.

Closed survey#

A closed survey can't be edited. Its Settings tab shows a summary, and its results stay in the Responses tab.

Reopen a closed survey#

Closed a survey too early, or want a few more answers? You can reopen it with a new deadline.

On the closed survey's page, click ⋮ (More actions), then Reopen survey.
In Keep survey open for, pick how long the survey stays open. Like the live settings, the duration is counted from the survey's launch date, and Pulsy shows the date it will close.
Click Reopen survey.

The survey goes back to live for the same people, with the same questions. Answers already submitted are kept, so results stay comparable.

Nobody is notified when a survey reopens. To let people know they can answer again, send a reminder.

Duplicate a survey#

Click ⋮ (More actions), then Duplicate. Pulsy creates a draft with the same questions, named after the original with "(copy)" at the end. Because the questions are the same, you can compare results between the two surveys.

Delete a survey#

Click ⋮ (More actions), then Delete survey, and confirm with Yes, delete. This permanently deletes the survey and all its responses. It can't be undone.

Move a scheduled survey back to draft#

If a survey is scheduled, click Unschedule to move it back to draft.
