Skip a Stany standup or snooze it until a date

In Stany, the BuddiesHR async standup bot for Slack, you can skip today's standup, or skip every standup until a date, for example during a holiday. You skip from Slack and must give a reason, which your team sees in the channel thread.

Step 1: Click Skip#

Use any of these buttons:

• ⏩ Skip in Stany's direct message,
• No, skip on the standup's channel post,
• ⏩ Skip on the report in Stany's Home tab.

Step 2: Choose how long to skip#

In the Skip Standup window, choose:

• Skip for today only, or
• Skip until [date] included, then pick the last day you'll be away. It can't be in the past.

Step 3: Give a reason#

Fill in Reason (required), then click Submit.

Your skip is added to the channel thread: "Skipped for today" or "Skipped until" the date, with your reason.

What happens while you're snoozed#

When you skip until a date:

• Stany doesn't send you the standup message or reminders,
• you're not listed among the people who haven't answered yet in the channel summary,
• Stany's Home tab still lists the new reports, so you can answer one if you want.

Come back early#

Submit a standup at any time, in Slack or on the web dashboard, and your snooze ends. To change the date, click ⏩ Skip on a report you haven't answered: the window shows "You're currently snoozed until" the date, and you can pick a new one.

Changed your mind?#

Before the deadline, click ✍️ Edit on the skipped report in Stany's Home tab, or Yes, I'm ready on the channel post, and fill in the form. Your answer replaces the skip.
