Install Clappy in Slack

Add Clappy, the BuddiesHR kudos app, to your Slack workspace in about 30 seconds, then finish setup. Includes what to do if an App Manager must approve.

To install Clappy, the BuddiesHR kudos app for Slack, click Add to Slack, pick your workspace and click Allow. It takes about 30 seconds, and you then land on the Setup Clappy page of the BuddiesHR web dashboard to get your kudos program running.

Step 1: Click Add to Slack#

Start from whichever is easiest:

From the BuddiesHR website: go to the Get started page and click Add to Slack on the Clappy card. On the Clappy page, Start free in Slack takes you there too.
From the Slack App Directory: open Clappy in the Slack App Directory and click Add to Slack.

Step 2: Select the right workspace#

Slack shows the workspace Clappy will be installed in at the top-right of the page. Change it there if needed.

Step 3: Click Allow#

Review the permissions Clappy needs, then click Allow.

Step 4: Complete the setup#

Slack sends you to the BuddiesHR web dashboard, where you're signed in automatically, and you land on the Setup Clappy page. Follow the quick setup guide to pick your channel, claps per week, company values, Appreciation Day and leaderboard.

As the installer, you're automatically a Clappy admin. See add or remove a Clappy admin to share the work.

Troubleshooting#

I don't have permission to install Clappy#

If your workspace only lets App Managers install apps, Slack shows a Request to install form instead of the Allow button. Add a short message for your App Managers and submit it.

Once an App Manager approves the request, Slackbot sends you a message and you can install Clappy from the App Directory.

I can't reinstall Clappy#

Once Clappy has been installed in your workspace, only a Clappy admin can reinstall it. Ask one of your Clappy admins to reinstall it, or to add you as an admin first.
